Headaches – What Causes Headaches?

A thunderclap migraine can be a sign of a more serious problem. A migraine headache can be caused by internal bleeding in the space around your brain. This is called a subarachnoidal hemorrhage.

Subarachnoids are arteries. They are tiny blood vessels that carry blood from the heart to the brain. Sometimes, the blood clots and travels into the brain, causing a stroke. Other times, blood clots form in and around the brain and cause a migraine headache.

Many reasons can lead to aneurysms in the brain, but the one that is most common is hypertension. Your high blood pressure can make arteries susceptible to rupture. These can occur either internally or externally. The damage caused can affect blood flow to the brain, causing a throbbing headache.

It is important to note that thunderclaps can also come from external causes. For example, if you were to get hit by lightning, you would experience a pounding headache. While this does not happen every day, it is possible to have a thunderclap as a result of lightning strikes.

Many different causes of these headaches exist. Some are more common than others. For example, migraine headaches tend to be less common than those that are caused by inflammation, so that's why they are usually called a migraine headache. If you have a pain in your chest that becomes constant and doesn't go away, you might be suffering from a chest infection. You may even have acid reflux, a heart condition which can cause aneurysm.

There are many ways to cure a headache. There are medications and herbs that can be taken to relieve pain. When you are trying to eliminate the cause of the thunderclap, you must determine what is causing the headache and try to treat it first.
